I'm a Snob!!

I’m a Snob!..... Ok so I admit it. I reckon most of you know yourselves quite well but how many of you can admit to your faults?
We all are proud of our strong points, some of us even boast of our achievements & abilities. But how many of us admit to our faults & bias?
You know what I mean, for those of you who travel.... do you get disappointed when you turn up at your accommodation & it is less than what you expected, what about ordering a meal & it just tastes or looks worse than you had imagined!
What about ever being on public transport & someone you just don’t want to sits next to you, or stuck on a plane with a smelly person (Breath or B.O.).... C’mon admit it.... you are a snob too!
Most of us are worried about what others think of us, so we try to stay “Neutral” in all matters personal, political or sensitive. We are supportive of those of a different colour or race, we are sympathetic to those less fortunate, and we blame governments for their lack of initiatives in supporting minority or oppressed groups!.... this is in public & what we say to our friends!
But is this what you really think?
In reality would you like a house full of drunk, lazy, smelly, dirty, trashed cars in front yard, out of control people next door to you (Irrelevant of what race, colour or nationality they are)..... NO!... I wouldn’t.
I am also picky about where I eat, I like nice food & good service.... if I go into a restaurant & it is dirty or the customer service is crap... ill leave!
So therefore I am a snob!
I’d like to ask the board members (YOU) what you are snobby about? Give me your example of where it could be taken that you were being snobby!
I’m the chairman and this is MY blog!

ooo - that's easy - the first thing that springs to mind for me is travelling: airports, budget planes, checkin and baggage carousels.
I know that paying reasonably cheap airfares is a good thing in one respect but then again by making flying so accessible to the masses also means that on the odd occasion I do fly with one of those pay for you seat and that's all you get airlines, I am subjected to "the masses" who have no idea in the world about travel ettiquette...
Check in - why does it always seem to take the person in front of me so long to check in. If only I had automatic access into every single airline lounge and express checkin - wouldn't that make life alot easier.
What's with people at the baggage carousel at the other end...the yellow line is there for a reason and if you park your trolley right in front of me with your army of 10 kids then when my bag comes through I will have no regrets if I cause serious harm to one or all 10 of your children...stand back..get out of my way and wait your &&^%$$%$$%#@@ turn......
Apart from that I'm fairly easy going I reckon....wonder what tonight's flight in a flying pencil case to Tauranga will bring me?
Happily put my habd up to being a snob! Unless there are minimum 3 stars above the door I'm not interested in staying . I'm not sure if that's a snob thing or an age thing though. As we get older and can enjoy/afford better things in life, do we not have the right to be pickier? As someone who pays rent rather than a mortgage I can move if the neighbours get too bloody annoying, if I'm flying I like to plug my headset in and ignore pretty much the entire world and if I'm eating out I would like good service and great food (ex hospo staff are the hardest to please with this believe me!). So snob or age either way if you like something you should be able to out your hand up and say yay! and if you don't like something then you should be able to say something and be listened to without repercussions.
My question to you is why is being a snob a fault or bias? It can be a positive for those that have worked hard to be in the position to be a snob!!!!
Specify with examples what are we in school?!?
.... plain and simple I am a snob, often, in most arenas, and proud to have discerning tastes!
ps so agree with Meredith about the luggage carousel-I take joy in knocking over the ten children, or even better if you pull your bag just right it can cause her trolley to tip and the contents of her overstuffed handbag get strewn all over the floor, JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!
I guess we al'l have the potential to be so-called "snobs" with the particular choices we make in life regardless of financial status, however, in considering the choices we make, if you choose to be an arsehole with your snobbery I definitely don't want to be classed as one...
Its hard to comment on this one. By reading others comments I think I have a different concept of what " snobbery" is.
Everyone is entitled to what they like and dont like in life.
I personally dont like rude people that cough on you without covering there mouths -
I class a snob as someone who thinks they are better than others. - (often an act to go along with "the Jones's)
We're all born the same way
Die the same way
Everybody's shit stinks - I dont get why some people dont realise there's doesn't.
Thought for the day - enjoy the sunsets!!
oh mrs chairperson., After posting my comment then looking back on yours. I have to say.
With my interpretation of a snob - you dont fall into the "snob" category. - -Just had to add that.xxx
Well I am a Coke snob, don't like any of that no name stuff, Pepsi or anything pretending to be Coke! This also crosses into the fact I am a Sprite snob too!!...again none of the pretend stuff.
Concerned is setting in the more I think about things the more I think I am a snob or am I just very particular?
Oh no, maybe I am just fussy! Now I have a complex, thanks Chairman.
K xo
you didnt need to write this one James we have been saying this about you for years but you never listened so Ifor one am glad you finnally admit it
Snob or just plain fussy? I'm not sure. I don't like smelly people though.
My biggest concern now is that I am more likely to be in the category of the unsure mother with a stack of kids, and after a hectic flight where I spent all my time trying to coax the kids to be quiet and sit still because other passengers are glaring at us, I'm waiting at the baggage carousel not quite sure what to do because my budget doesn't allow me the luxury to be a frequent arline passenger and therefore have not developed airline etiquette. Suddenly some stranger elbows my youngest in the eye, taking pleasure from this, whilst trying to grab their Gucci luggage that matches their sunnies and boots, which cost the same as the deposit I paid on my house.
I've taken not of your comments, so I can greet you by name on the rare occasion that I may be at the airport baggage carousel.
Had another experience last night - went to a Black Tie Awards Dinner - what part of BLACK TIE dress code do people not get.....jeans and a shirt hanging out does not equate to black tie.... it's really not that hard.
Mate you are any thing BUT a snob, being fussy is not snobbish; wanting nice food and service is expecting value for money, avoiding smelly people is fair enough.
We all have our falts, it would be a boring world if we were all squeaky clean like Kevin Rudd !
Deputy.
